There was plenty of off-field action throughout the day including the Falcons District Junior Club Parade which saw the district’s clubs, represented by their juniors, parade in front of a massive 5000 plus home crowd prior to the league game. This gave the junior clubs a chance to showcase their passion with pride, colour and enthusiasm.

Falcons to host International Football Festival

Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 1:30 PM

West Perth Football Club League players will don special guernseys featuring the British flag for their International Football clash against Subiaco at Joondalup Arena this Saturday, June 30.

The clash forms part of the club’s annual International Football Festival which celebrates the diverse community in the Falcons District. The district embraces the largest multicultural and migrant community within the State, overseeing participation and involvement of footy players from Hillarys through to Two Rocks.

The British flag featured on the jumpers the players will be sporting reflects the high percentage of British-born migrants in the area.

The festival, which enters its eighth year, is a free event for the entire family. It will kick off with the Reserves match, followed by an exhibition match between the Edmund Rice Centre Female Football Academy and Ocean Ridge Junior Football Club, before the League clash gets underway at 2.40pm.

In addition to the games, there will be a dedicated kids zone including face painting, games with giveaways, footy activities as well as international themed food trucks.

The Falcons return to action in Joondalup on Saturday June 30, looking to continue to topple ladder leaders Subiaco in front of a whopping home crowd whilst embracing the diverse populations that make up its talent zone - the Falcons District.
